Environmental Management is not, as the
name suggests, the management of the environment.
Rather, it is the management of our
interaction with and impact upon the environment. A
common view of environmental management involves the
concept of carrying capacity - the maximum number a
resource can sustain.
As with all management functions,
effective management tools, standards and systems are
required. Locally, some of these include
water
standards and
zoning and
floodplain regulations.
Email has become a regular means of
communication. While the County urges you to contact
officials with questions, Open Records Requests should be made
via the telephone or in person. We ask that citizens
remember that email is normally monitored during regular office
hours. However, training and other scheduled events often
take personnel away from immediate access to their email
accounts.
