The Child Care Licensing
Program
works with all child care providers in
Barton County. According to Kansas
Child Care Licensing Law, anyone providing care for children
other than
those related by blood, marriage or adoption must be
licensed or registered with the Kansas Department of Health and
Environment (KDHE). Fees are required for licensing
and registration services.

Licensed Facilities
|
Initial and annual evaluation visits are made on-site to all
licensed child care facilities with recommendations for
licensure made to KDHE. |

Registered Day Care Homes
|
This type of care is limited to the care of
six children at any one time, including provider's own children.

On-site visits are made to investigate
complaints received.

Provide health and safety information
to child care providers and parents.

Provide information to the public
regarding Kansas Child Care Licensing Laws.

Monthly orientation classes for prospective child care
providers. |

Registration or Licensure of in-home child care, child
care centers and pre-schools, after school programs.

care provider and unlicensed provider complaints. |

Quarterly Newsletters for child care
providers and child care facilities on upcoming trainings,
regulatory information, and helpful hints. |
