M & I is a program to serve
pregnant and post-partum child-bearing women and their
infants with an emphasis on adolescents and high-risk
pregnancies.
The
purpose of this program is to improve pregnancy
outcomes, to educate the client on prenatal, post-partum
and newborn care and to decrease the number pre-term or
low birth-weight babies. A major emphasis in this
program is to assist women without financial resources
to obtain prenatal care. These women are not
covered by private insurance or Medicaid. This
program is also coordinated with the Farm-worker Program
and We Care.
