Construction and demolition waste (C&D
waste) includes all wastes arising from construction and
building industries and demolition. It can
include waste building materials, dredging materials,
tress stumps and rubble resulting from the construction,
remodeling, repaid and demolition of homes, commercial
buildings and other structures and pavements.
C&D waste may contain lead, asbestos and other hazardous
substances which must be handled under the current
regulatory system.
