Proposed changes to the Barton County Floodplain Resolution

Link to the proposed Floodplain Management Resolution.  If approved by the County Commission the provisions of the resolution will take effect on February 15, 2019.  The newly mapped areas in the Cow Creek drainage will be incorporated in addition to updated regulatory language.

Link to the draft map showing the proposed changes to the floodplain map in the Cow Creek Watershed. The 90 day appeal period ended on April 18, 2018 and it is anticipated that the new map will be adopted and in effect by February 15, 2019. Until that time the existing map remains in effect.

The Barton County Planning Commission will conduct a Public Hearing to consider the proposed changes to the Floodplain Resolution on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 3:00 pm in the Conference Room on the First Floor of the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main Street, Great Bend, KS 67530.  The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

Then the Resolution will go to the Barton County Commission for final approval on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 9:00 am in the Commission Chambers on the First Floor of the Barton County Courthouse.  As with all Commission meetings, the public is invited and encouraged to attend.
