Evidence/Personal Property Release

Evidence Release is Monday thru Friday 9AM to 11AM and 1PM to 4PM.  

Evidence Release must be set-up with the Evidence Custodian.  Walk-in Release is not accepted.  You must have a court order or journal entry authorizing the release of evidence.  Personal Property is evaluated on case by case basis. If you do not have a court order or journal entry, the Evidence Custodian will verify authorization through the County Attorneys Office. 

For the release of any firearms, the Evidence Custodian will only release the firearm to the owner.  The owner must be present with valid identification and pass a NICS background check to receive the firearm(s).  The Sheriff's Office DOES NOT return ammunition. 

No Evidence/Property that is illegal (Drugs, Paraphernalia, Illegal Weapons etc.) is released.  This evidence/property is destructed by the Sheriff's Office.
