Draft 2019 Region E Hazard Mitigation Plan
2019 Kansas Homeland Security Region E Hazard Mitigation Plan - DRAFT Plan
Barton County citizens may review the Draft of the 2019 Kansas Homeland Security Region E Hazard Mitigation Plan. Local participation is important in the development of emergency plans.
Hazard mitigation is a sustained action taken to reduce or eliminate long-term risk to people and their property from hazards. Under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act governments are required to develop a hazard mitigation plan as a condition for receiving certain types of non-emergency disaster assistance, including funding for mitigation projects. Public participation and comments are encouraged to improve plans and provide suggestions for improvements to these plans.
The draft plan will be forwarded to FEMA for review and approval in late November.
