Barton County Planning Commission Positions Available April 1, 2017

LEGISLATIVE COFFEE - The Chamber hosted Legislative Coffees are open to the public and gives local individuals the chance to network with our legislators directly.  After hearing a brief update from each legislator present, the audience has an opportunity to ask questions about hot topic issues, such as health care, education, budget concerns, etc.  All state senators and representatives are invited to attend these Legislative Coffees.

So far Coffees have been scheduled for February 11, 2017 & March 11, 2017.  All Legislative Coffees are held in the Spray-Holt Family Board Room at the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development, 1125 Williams and begin at 10 a.m. Doors open at 9:30 a.m., and donuts and coffee are provided.


PLANNING COMMISSION - Barton County is soliciting applicants for three uncompensated positions on the Barton County Planning Commission until filled.  Term runs until March 31, 2020.  All successful applicants must reside in Barton County.  Focus is to plan for proper growth and development in Barton County through enacting planning and zoning laws for protection of public health, safety and welfare.  You may download the APPLICATION HERE or obtain one from the Barton County Administrator's Office, Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main, Room 107, Great Bend, Kansas, 67530.  (620) 793-1800.  If you have any questions, please contact Judy Goreham, Barton County Zoning Administrator 620-796-4300.
