Per State Statute, the Barton County Treasurer's office is responsible for creating and mailing the annual tax statements and collecting and distributing these tax monies for the State, County, Cities and all other taxing entities that levy Ad Valorem and/or special assessment taxes.
The Treasurer's office is also an agent for the Kansas Department of Revenue, Division of Motor Vehicles, and is responsible for the titling, registration and all other various motor vehicle transactions for all vehicles owned by the residents of Barton County.
The Treasurer's office is also responsible for all other moneys belonging to Barton County and/or directed by law to be paid to the Treasurer.
The Barton County Treasurer's office accepts cash, checks, money orders and debit/credit cards as payment of all taxes and fees. The credit card company processing fee of 2.5% of the total amount due will be charged to the customer.
REMINDER: Insurance for each vehicle must be provided before any title work or renewal can be completed.
