DETENTION OFFICER - Sheriff's Office. Crime fighting doesn’t have to mean hitting the streets – it also includes the daily management of the detention facility. At the Barton County Sheriff’s Office, our detention officers provide for the safe keeping of prisoners in the custody of the Sheriff, overseeing confinement to include mealtime, activities and transports. With a Bachelor's degree, or 3-5 years of experience, in health-related field, marketing, or education preferred, the PH Educator develops, provides and evaluates program materials in both written and spoken formats. CPR certification, or ability to achieve certification, in a reasonable timeframe, required. $31,200 - $41,600 annually depending on education and experience. ON-CALL WORKER – 20th Judicial District Juvenile Services. Contractual positions open for grant-funded Barton County \ Juvenile Intake and Assessment. On-call outside the 8-5, M-F time periods. Travels to work with families and law enforcement to determine placement for youth. Must possess strong conflict resolution skills, ability to recognize need and refer to area resources. Administers testing to determine placement and referrals. Excellent written, oral communications. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but experience in Human Services or a related field will be considered. Must be a minimum of 21 years of age, possess valid Kansas DL, successfully complete JIAS training, pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug test.
