The Barton County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for a Full-Time Road Deputy.
📍 About Barton County
Barton County is centrally located with five major highways running through it (US-281, US-56, K-156, K-96 & K-4). Deputies patrol approximately 900 square miles and serve 9 incorporated cities, several unincorporated communities, including the county seat of Great Bend.
🕒 Schedule
• 12-hour shifts - Every other Friday/Saturday/Sunday off
💼 Position Type
• Full-Time Road Deputy
💰 Pay
• Starting pay is $23.00/hour for non-certified/no experience
• Lateral and experienced applicants evaluated on a case-by-case basis

✅ Minimum Qualifications
• Must be 21 years of age at time of appointment
• Valid Kansas Driver’s License with acceptable driving history
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass applicant testing, including:
– Background investigation
– Psychological exam
– Drug screening
– Work-fit evaluation
• No felony or domestic violence convictions
• Must be of good moral character
