SOCIAL WORKER - Barton County is accepting applications for Social Worker for Health Department until position is filled. Visits clients in their homes to evaluate the social needs of the individuals and family unit. Integrates the theory of Social Determinants of Health and Health Equity into the daily interactions with the population served. Seeks resources for clients, serves as a staff resource for clients in need. Must be willing to initiate Program development and evaluations on the needs of the Barton County Population. DETENTION OFFICER - Barton County is accepting applications for a Detention Officer for the Sheriff's Office until the position is filled. The person in this position provides for the safe keeping of prisoners in the custody of the Sheriff, overseeing confinement to include mealtime, activities and transports. Officers work shifts, must have no felony convictions and a valid Kansas driver's license. NURSE - Barton County is accepting applications for a Public Health Nurse (General) for the Health Department until the position is filled. Requires an understanding of public health programs. Provides services on a walk in basis to include immunizations; testing for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis, sexually transmitted infections; blood pressure, hemoglobin, blood sugar; provides supplies and evaluations of clients for family planning; medical consultations for medical referrals; and other duties as arise. Associates Degree in nursing with a current nursing license to practice in the State of Kansas required (BSN preferred). Successful applicant must pass drug screen and physical assessment. Full job description: Nurse

 

ON-CALL WORKER – Contractual positions open for grant-funded Barton County \ Juvenile Intake and Assessment. On-call outside the 8-5, M-F time periods. Travels to work with families and law enforcement to determine placement for youth. Must possess strong conflict resolution skills, ability to recognize need and refer to area resources. Administers testing to determine placement and referrals. Excellent written, oral communications. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but experience in Human Services or a related field will be considered.
