The person in this position provides for the safe keeping of prisoners in the custody of the Sheriff, overseeing confinement to include mealtime, activities and transports. Officers work shifts, must have no felony convictions and a valid Kansas driver's license. NURSE, part-time - Barton County is accepting applications for a part-time Public Health Nurse (General) for the Health Department until the position is filled. Requires an understanding of public health programs. Provides services on a walk in basis to include immunizations; testing for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis, sexually transmitted infections; blood pressure, hemoglobin, blood sugar; provides supplies and evaluations of clients for family planning; medical consultations for medical referrals; and other duties as arise. Associates Degree in nursing with a current nursing license to practice in the State of Kansas required (BSN preferred).  Hours negotiable. Successful applicant must pass drug screen and physical assessment.

 

MOTOR VEHICLE / TAX SPECIALIST – Barton County is accepting applications for Motor Vehicle / Tax Specialist for Treasurer's Office until position is filled. Does motor vehicle title transactions, issues new license plates, renews existing vehicle registrations and various other vehicle transactions. Assists with mailing tax statements, receiving payments of current and delinquent oil & gas, real estate, and personal property taxes. ON-CALL WORKER – Contractual positions open for grant-funded Barton County \ Juvenile Intake and Assessment. On-call outside the 8-5, M-F time periods. Travels to work with families and law enforcement to determine placement for youth. Must possess strong conflict resolution skills, ability to recognize need and refer to area resources. Administers testing to determine placement and referrals. Excellent written, oral communications. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but experience in Human Services or a related field will be considered.
