ASSISTANT COUNTY ATTORNEY - Barton County is accepting applications for the Assistant County Attorney position until filled.  The Assistant County Attorney is the representation of the State of Kansas in the prosecution of assigned criminal, juvenile, traffic, child in need of care and care and treatment cases.  The employee frequently develops methods within broadly defined objectives and exercises independent professional judgment under supervision.  This position requires a juris doctorate from an accredited college or university and admission to the Kansas Bar.  The position requires that the employee have no felony convictions and no misdemeanor convictions for crimes involving moral turpitude or dishonesty.  Submission to a background check is a requirement of the position.  Full Job Description:  Assistant County Attorney


RECORDS CLERK - Barton County is seeking applications for the position of Records Clerk at the Barton County Sheriff’s Office until filled.  The Records Clerk creates and updates files and various types of cards.   An accurate record of prisoners and the jail calendar must be maintained.  Additional duties include copying case and accident files and completing monthly billings for inmate housing and statistical reports.  Alternating day shift work, starting at 7:00, 8:00 or 9:00 a.m. is required in this position.  Successful candidate will have High School Diploma or G.E.D and one year of college education in Office Administration or equivalent experience and pass background check, work fit and drug screen.  Full Job Description:  Sheriff - Records Clerk


CLERK – Barton County accepting applications for Clerk for Register of Deeds Office until position filled.  Responsible for a variety of clerical duties, mostly relating to recording various legal documents and indexing these documents along with Uniform Commercial Codes (UCC's), and keeping Memorial Parks records.  Also serves as a Passport Applicant Acceptance Agent.  Computer and clerical skills helpful. REGISTERED NURSE (Full Time) -- This full-time nursing position requires a thorough knowledge in a broad array of basic scope of practice and provides services on a walk-in basis. This person provides many diverse services including lab testing, administering immunizations, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, blood pressure monitoring, hemoglobin, and blood sugar checks, provides supplies and evaluations of clients for family planning; medical referrals, and other duties as arise. This position may also be called upon to apply basic Public Health principles as circumstances are identified that may put the public at risk. Quality Improvement practices will be embedded in the everyday workload. This person must be equipped to work as a team member however, there will be times that independent work is required. This person should possess a self-starter attitude and be able to use time efficiently. Associates Degree in nursing with a current nursing license to practice in the State of Kansas required. EQUIPMENT OPERATOR I - Barton County is accepting applications for the position of full-time Equipment Operator I until filled.  This position operates construction and maintenance equipment including single-axle and/or heavy-duty tandem-axle trucks.  Responsibilities will also include performing manual tasks to carry out functions related to Road and Bridge construction  including asphalt operations, repairing fences and guardrails and performing preventative maintenance responsibilities.   High School diploma or GED required with 2 years of trade school preferred in road construction or related field.  Two years of light to medium construction, maintenance or agricultural equipment operating experience required.  Must be able to move 50 pounds frequently and work in extreme outdoor conditions.  Full Job Description:  Equipment Operator I


COMMUNICATIONS OFFICERS I - Barton County is accepting applications for a Communications Officer I for the Communications / 911 Department until the position is filled.   Operates dispatch radios, computers, 911 and administrative phone lines, the telecommunication device for the deaf (TDD), and receives and dispatches messages, a portion of which will be of an emergency nature.   High School diploma or GED required as well as NCIC certification (within six months of hire) and Emergency Medical Dispatch and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation CPR certifications (within first year of hire).  Must work shifts, pass security background check, pre-employment drug screen and physical assessment as well as hold a valid Kansas driver's license. DEPUTY - Barton County is accepting applications for a Road Deputy for the Sheriff's Office until the position is filled. The person in this position patrols Barton County, enforcing the law and protecting life and property, ensures compliance with traffic regulates, investigates crime scenes and traffic accident sites. Protects prisoners as needed, investigates and apprehends persons charged by warrant or subpoena, serves civil papers. High School diploma or GED. Must successfully complete the Law Enforcement Training Center within first year of employment and annual re-certification.  Prefer one (1) year law enforcement experiences. Deputies work shifts, must have no felony or Class A misdemeanor convictions and a valid Kansas driver's license. ON-CALL WORKER – Contractual positions open for grant-funded Barton County \ Juvenile Intake and Assessment. On-call outside the 8-5, M-F time periods. Travels to work with families and law enforcement to determine placement for youth. Must possess strong conflict resolution skills, ability to recognize need and refer to area resources. Administers testing to determine placement and referrals. Excellent written, oral communications. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but experience in Human Services or a related field will be considered.
