EQUIPMENT OPERATOR I - Road and Bridge.  We’re looking for an Equipment Operator I to run construction and maintenance equipment. Our Director is driven to hire the right person with road construction or other related experience preferred as well as a valid Class A Kansas Driver’s License.All County positions require a minimum of a High School diploma or GED with the ability to pass a drug screen and pre-employment physical assessment. ASSISTANT COUNTY ATTORNEYThe Barton County Attorney’s Office has an opening for a full-time position of Assistant County Attorney. Duties include representing the State of Kansas in the prosecution of assigned criminal, juvenile, traffic, child in need of care, and care and treatment cases. Primary case assignments for this position will likely be traffic, misdemeanor, and some felonies. Starting salary range is $100,000-$112,000 plus benefits depending upon experience. Attorneys are allowed one work from home day per week when schedules allow. Minimum qualifications include a juris doctorate from an accredited college or university and admission to the Kansas Bar. 3L students planning to take the July Bar Exam are encouraged to apply. Must exercise independent judgement, good organizational decision-making skills. Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal, and must have the ability to interpret laws, regulations, local codes and legal documents. The position requires that the employee have no felony convictions and no misdemeanor convictions for crimes involving moral turpitude or dishonesty. ISO I - Central Kansas Community Corrections is seeking applicants for the position of Intensive Supervision Officer I. Pay starts at $28.91 an hour.

Duties include completing risk/needs assessments, meeting with clients, developing supervision plans, maintaining case files, referring to appropriate programs, crisis interventions, preparing & filing affidavits, testifying in court appearances, report writing, supervising urinalysis and breath analysis testing, and field visits.

Position involves working as a member of a team, supervising &/or monitoring clients for compliance with court and program orders and partnering with stakeholders to assist in client progress. Ability to complete training and become certified in the Kansas Department of Corrections Case Management Basic Training, Level Service Case Management Inventory and Women’s Risk Needs assessments within the first year of employment. Regular contact is required with clients, victims, employers/schools, community agencies, prosecutors, judges and public. 

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science, social science, criminal justice, or related field, preferred. Experience may be substituted for the required education as determined by the agency.  Preference will be given to applicants with one or more years of corrections/criminal justice or related experience.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed.

Necessary Special Requirements: Possess a valid driver’s license. No felony convictions.

ON-CALL WORKER – 20th Judicial District Juvenile Services.  Contractual positions open for grant-funded Barton County \ Juvenile Intake and Assessment. On-call outside the 8-5, M-F time periods. Travels to work with families and law enforcement to determine placement for youth. Must possess strong conflict resolution skills, ability to recognize need and refer to area resources. Administers testing to determine placement and referrals. Excellent written, oral communications. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but experience in Human Services or a related field will be considered.
