Clerks – Barton County is accepting applications for two full-time positions for the Health Department until the positions are filled. The positions will greet clients, assist in service selection, enter data and update information, distributes client forms, answers the telephone, receive and relay messages, route calls, schedule appointments, prepare and print consent forms and attach programming records. High school diploma or GED, one year or clerical or receptionist experience. Valid KS driver's license. Successful applicants must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical assessment. 

 

GENERAL LEDGER / REAL ESTATE CLERK - Barton County is accepting applications for a full time General Ledger / Real Estate Clerk for the County Clerk / Elections Office until the position is filled. This position is responsible for the review / balancing of General Ledger transaction details; receiving and recording deeds and other instruments of records for property taxation purposes; election work and other related clerical duties. Post-secondary education / degree / certification in secretarial, accounting, business or equivalent. Must be Qualified Elector. Must possess valid Kansas driver's license and successfully pass drug screen. PROGRAM ADVOCATE - Barton County is accepting applications for a Program Advocate for Juvenile Services until the position is filled. The person in this full-time, grant funded position will connect justice involved youth with community resources or remove identified barriers to transportation, education, leisure and recreation. The position can help youth connect with community resources emphasizing the importance of trade or post high school education. Education requirements – four-year college degree with preference given to related fields. This position requires the successful applicant to have a valid Kansas Driver’s License, no excessive ticket history and must pass a criminal history, DCF background and drug screen. DRUG-FREE COMMUNITIES PROJECT COORDINATOR - Barton County is accepting applications for a Drug-Free Communities Project Coordinator for Juvenile Services until the position is filled. The person in this full-time, grant funded position will oversee a peer-led youth prevention task force, mobilizing youth to carry out the DFC 12-month action plan and reach DFC grant objectives. Education requirements – four-year college degree with preference given to related fields is preferred. Experience may compensate for education. Experience – Two or more years of related work experience preferred. This position requires the successful applicant to have a valid Kansas Driver’s License, no excessive ticket history and must pass a criminal history, DCF background and drug screen. Registered Dietitian (Part Time) – Barton County is accepting applications for a part-time Registered Dietitian for the Health Department until the position is filled.  Working in a multi-county area, this person  must possess a vast knowledge of the Women’s, Infants and Children’s Program (WIC) as he or she will evaluate client histories and medical data, set up food packages to supplement clients’ nutritional needs, work with pregnant and postpartum women, infants, and children.   Requires Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or equivalent and registration with the Commission for Dietetic Registration (or RD/RDN eligible) and current Kansas Dietitian License.  Must have valid KS driver's license.  Successful applicant must pass drug screen and physical assessment. NURSE - Barton County is accepting applications for a Public Health Nurse (General) for the Health Department until the position is filled.   Requires an understanding of public health programs.  Provides services on a walk in basis to include immunizations; testing for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis, sexually transmitted infections; blood pressure, hemoglobin, blood sugar; provides supplies and evaluations of clients for family planning; medical consultations for medical referrals; and other duties as arise.  Associates Degree in nursing with a current nursing license to practice in the State of Kansas required.  Successful applicant must pass drug screen and physical assessment.  Full Job Description: Public Health Nurse

DETENTION OFFICER - Barton County is accepting applications for a Detention Officer for the Sheriff's Office until the position is filled. The person in this position provides for the safe keeping of prisoners in the custody of the Sheriff, overseeing confinement to include mealtime, activities and transports. Officers work shifts, must have no felony convictions and a valid Kansas driver's license. ON-CALL WORKER – Contractual positions open for grant-funded Barton County \ Juvenile Intake and Assessment. On-call outside the 8-5, M-F time periods. Travels to work with families and law enforcement to determine placement for youth. Must possess strong conflict resolution skills, ability to recognize need and refer to area resources. Administers testing to determine placement and referrals. Excellent written, oral communications. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but experience in Human Services or a related field will be considered.
