Maternal & Infant Health

M & I Health serves pregnant and post-partum child-bearing women and their infants with an emphasis on adolescents and high-risk pregnancies.  The purpose of this program is to improve pregnancy outcomes, to educate the client on prenatal, post-partum and newborn care and to decrease the number pre-term or low birth-weight babies.  Contact the health department for more information and to schedule appointments.

Healthy Start 

Healthy Start is part of Maternal & Infant Health and Healthy Start Visitors talk to new families after delivery at the hospital and again after they have gone home to address questions that parents of newborns often have.  The Healthy Start Visitor will provide new parents with a packet of information on parent-child relationships, community resources, immunizations for babies, car seat safety and prevention of injuries and accidents.
