Barton County Solid Waste Management Plan 5-Year Update
The Barton County Solid Waste Management Plan is required to be reviewed and updated every 5 years. The Barton County Solid Waste Management Planning Committee reviews the County’s Plan and recommends updates of the Plan to the Barton County Commission for approval. The plan has been reviewed and updated per KDHE regulations, Article 29, Section 28-29-81.
After a five-year review of the SWM plan, Barton County is required to hold a public hearing to address the revisions and updates to the Plan.
Public Hearing Notice – The Board of County Commissioners of Barton County, Kansas will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 9:00 am in the Commission Chambers, Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main, Suite 106, Great Bend, Kansas, for the purpose of evaluating the Solid Waste Management Plan for Barton County, Kansas. The plan may be viewed on-line at
Barton County Solid Waste Management Plan 2026 or in the Administrator’s Office, 1400 Main, Suite 108, Great Bend, Kansas, during regular business hours before that time. The plan will be reviewed, and oral and written comments will be recorded at the Public Hearing.
